We Will Follow Our God
Micah 4:1-13
Others may follow their gods, but we will always follow the Lord our God.
Micah 4: 5, CEV
The decision to choose who to follow has become an important one. Daily we are faced with the choice to say who we are or deny Jesus Christ like Peter. In my country, you must know who you believe in and be ready to stand for Him
even if it means losing opportunities because of your faith in Jesus.
The people of God faced the same thing in the past. The interesting thing is that those who do not serve the true God,
Yahweh, are bold to say who their god is. In the same way, we do not have to think twice before we say we are Christians. Let us watch that we do not lose faith because of the temporary gains of life and lose eternity with God.
I love the God’s Word Translation of our focal text. It reads thus: “All the nations live by the names of their gods, but we will live by the name of the Lord our God forever” (Micah 4:5, GWT). Friend, let us live by the name of our God and follow Him. Let us be bold to say we know Him, and we belong to Him.
Remember, if we stand for Him, He will stand by us. “For those who honor Me I will honor, and those who despise Me shall be lightly esteemed” (1 Samuel 2:30b).
Your Turn
- Let us pray: “Our father, we thank You for the privilege to read and hear Your word again. We pray
that You will make us bold by Your Spirit to live for You and walk in Your Name”. Amen.
Song: Sweet Jesus, sweet Jesus how wonderful You are.
