Walk In The Light

Isaiah 2: 6-11
Come, descendants of Jacob, let’s live in the light of the Lord.
Isaiah 2:5, GWT

I am stunned by the similarities in the sins of the Israelites and our sins stated in this portion of the Bible. We are
indeed cut from the same stone. The passage reveals our negative behaviours.

Verses 6-7 allude to this. “They are filled with Eastern influences. They are fortunetellers like the Philistines, and
they make deals with foreigners. Their land is filled with silver and gold, and there is no end to their treasures. Their
land is filled with horses, and there is no end to their chariots.” (Isaiah 2:6-7, GWT). Are the church, our city, and
nation not replicating the same offences?

Yet, the Lord shows us the way out. Repentance, repentance, repentance. The prophet cries out saying, “Come,
descendants of Jacob, let’s live in the light of the Lord” (Isaiah 2:5, GWT). The light of the Lord is the word of the
Lord. “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” (Psalm 119: 105).

If we will live in the light, the Lord will visit us and restore us. If we fail to do so, the calamity we are afraid of may
happen. Let Him that has an ear hear what the Spirit of the Lord is saying to the church right now. Friend, we serve a just God. Let us pray and plead for mercy. Let’s amend our ways. Shalom.

Your Turn

  • Thank God for His patience and mercy.
  • Pray for yourself, family, city, and nation. God demands our repentance and change of life.

Song: I will run to You.
