Rejoice Always
Philippians 4:2
Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!
Friend, the reason we rejoice is not because all is well and our lives’ goals and desires are already fulfilled. Rather, we rejoice because Christ Jesus has redeemed us from the curse of the law and we now have access to God. We can receive His mercy and grace whenever we need it. See Galatians 3: 13; Hebrews 4:16.
We rejoice because we know that in the end we will win. We rejoice because we know and agree with what the Scripture says. “For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory… for the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal” (2 Corinthians 4:17-18).
Whatever challenges we are facing right now, they are temporary. God will help us to overcome them. We will laugh in the end because victory is ours in the Name of Jesus. Therefore, we rejoice in anticipation of the actual manifestation of our victory.
Friend, rejoice! Do it again and again. Your joy is a weapon against the arrow of depression and pain. When you rejoice, your feelings and emotions will come into agreement with what you have decided to do – to rejoice in the Lord always. May the King fill your heart with more reasons to rejoice. Shalom.
