Hebrews 1:8-9
You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy
(Hebrews 1:9, New International Version).

Stand on the New Covenant we have in Christ Jesus and claim the benefits of today’s focal text because we are in Christ Jesus and we are seated with Him in heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6). If the Son has been distinguished and set above His companions, we have been set above them too.

If Jesus has been anointed with the oil of gladness then we are too. We are in Him because as He is, so are we in this world (1 John 4:17). Another Scripture says that He that is from above is above all and that Christ has been made the head of all principalities and powers (John 3:31; Colossians 2:10). Since we are in Him, we have access to what He has access to.

Friend, we need to know that all of these divine truths are ours to receive and walk in them. We have been called to manifest the traits of our Lord and Savior. He secured them for us.

When the world is looking for someone who will be a blessing to our generation, they should not look too far because we are God’s image and we carry His commanded blessing.  When our world needs someone who will stand in righteousness we should be the one. We have been anointed above our companions. Let us live like it.  Shalom.
