Praise Him In Advance
Judges 13: 8-23
And the Angel of the Lord said to Manoah, ‘Though you detain Me, I will not eat your food. But if you offer a burnt offering, you must offer it to the Lord.’ (Judges 13:16).
I have heard that faith praises God in advance. Mr. and Mrs. Manoah demonstrated this to us. They thanked God for visiting them and for the miracle they were expecting. They offered a burnt offering to Him.
Unknown to them that they were dealing with an angel; they extended the same sense of gratitude to the angel. Mr. Manoah told the angel that if his words came to pass, they would love to appreciate Him. Then the angel responded, “if you offer a burnt offering, you must offer it to the Lord”.
We can learn from them. We can train ourselves to praise God in advance as soon as we have asked and we have the faith that God will do it. I know believers who go to the extent of sowing a seed offering as a down payment for the thanksgiving offering they would bring when the Lord answers them.
It is not the amount that you bring. What matters is the heart of gratitude that followed your offering. Think about this; see if this is a principle you would want to start practicing. May the Lord fulfill your heart’s desire and bring His word to pass in your life. Shalom
Your Turn
- Praise God for another opportunity to learn the secret of living from His word.
- Pray that you will have a heart of gratitude towards God and man.
