I long For This Experience
Judges 13:8-23
So Manoah arose and followed his wife. When he came to the Man, he said to Him, ‘Are You the Man who spoke to this woman?’ And He said, ‘ I am.’ (Judges 13:11).
The appearance of the Angel of the Lord is common in the Bible. He met with Gideon and led him. Abraham encountered him too. However, the story of Samson’s parents and their encounter with the Lord always leaves me with a sense of hunger for God in my soul. It makes me to desire a deeper relationship with God.
Friend, I believe God wants to develop the same kind of relationship with us if we will give Him attention. We may not see an angel but we can have a friendship with God and be in communion with Him. This would be possible if we move away from our five minutes-a-day devotion to create more time to wait in His presence.
I want to know God more. I want to experience Him and know what He wants me to do per time because that pleases Him. The disciples had this kind of relationship with Him. He led them through diverse means. O! That we will cry out for more of God.
Mr. Manoah prayed and God answered. The Angel came again. He was bold and free to ask him who he was. He said, “Are You the Man who spoke to this woman?” And He said, “I am.”Friend, let us take time today to ask the Lord to lift us up to this
level of openness and intimacy with Him. Shalom.
