Joshua 1: 9
Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.

I love God because He is real. He will give us a promise; show us a purpose or an assignment to do for Him. Sometimes, He will tell us that there will be trouble on the way, but He will be with us. Meaning He wants us to have courage because whatever happens, He is with us. We will win. For me, that’s fair enough.

God told Joshua, “Do not be afraid and do not be discouraged. I am with you”. For me, it means in the cause of fulfilling any assignment we will have many reasons to fear, panic, be discouraged and give up. But God is saying, ‘Do not give up. The path to winning is to stick to it. Trust My presence and help. Press on. You will win’.

Friend, God’s presence dispels every negativity and darkness. His presence infuses strength into us and assures us that no matter what we are going through or will go through He will be a match for it.

Janice understood this when she got her new job in 2015. Faced with a highly patriarchal organization, she held on to God, and broke the barriers to move to the top and said: “I choose to believe God. I will not fear. I will excel and become all that God wants me to be”. Today, she is the Director of Finance of the organization. God can do it again. Shalom.
