1 Thessalonians 2:4
On the contrary, we speak as those approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel. We are not trying to please people but God, who tests our hearts (vs.4, NIV).

If you are called and anointed by God to serve in a particular area, know that you have been approved by Him and entrusted with heaven’s treasures. Since God approved of you, you no longer need to be a people pleaser or seek the approval of men.

Paul said, “We speak as those approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel. We are not trying to please people but God, who tests our hearts” (1 Thessalonian 2:4, NIV).  Your gifts came from God. He created you for His purpose therefore celebrate it and be contended.

The Bible says, “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning”( James 1:17). The more we shift from this truth, the more we will be tempted to become people-pleasers.

People-pleasers lack self-esteem and self-confidence because they fail to understand that God has already approved them by entrusting them with the gifts and talents they possessed.

Friend, let no man despise you.  God is the One to please. He is the One who tests our hearts and has the right to judge us. Seek to please Him only and all will be well with us. Then we can do our work from a heart filled with faith, love and hope in Christ Jesus. Shalom.
