This Is God’s Will
1 Thessalonians 5:16 -18
Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18).
When I look at these verses I see a 3-in-1 instruction.
Though they can be separated but I believe they flow together.
For example, when the Scripture says, “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus” (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18) It means it is something that we can do. When we know how to rejoice it means we have learnt how to separate the reason for our joy from happiness.
It means we know how to stay focused on the end result of what God will do with our circumstances than focus on the circumstances. This will lead to praying continually. As we rejoice we will continue to hand over our life’s puzzles and that of our friends, family and the world to the Lord to help us fix it. It will also make us to be God-dependent.
Doing the above would naturally lead to the last part, that is giving thanks in all circumstances because we know God is at work in our lives. Alleluia!
Friend, I believe when we do these three we are doing the will of God in Christ Jesus. And God will reward us for it. Shalom.
