Steadfast Walk
Luke 17:22-37
Remember Lot’s wife. Whoever seeks to save his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it.
Luke 17:32-33
This is the year of a steadfast walk with the Lord. The Lord is placing a demand on our commitment to Him. He wants us to focus on our walk with Him and live right.
To be steadfast means to be devoted. It means to be loyal to a person, belief or a cause. In this time of adulterous
living and sin dominated generation, God wants our loyalty to Him and His ways. He wants us to be separated unto Him. He wants us to be distinct.
The question for us is are we ready and willing to be committed and loyal to God? Our generation has become so earthly conscious and materialistic that we have fallen from the path of right living. Let us consider our ways. Let
us live right. Let’s not drive cars or board transportation vehicles that are born again but their owners or drivers are
not by virtue of the way we live.
Jesus taught His disciples to stay focused. He told them, “Whoever seeks to save his life will lose it, and whoever
loses his life will preserve it” (Luke 17: 33). Focus on Him. Lose your life for Him. You will not regret it. We must not trade our salvation and eternity with God for a temporary luxurious living on earth. Shalom.
