Prophet Isaiah’s Call

Isaiah 6:1-10
In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the temple.
Isaiah 6:1.

Isaiah has been a prophet for a while now. However, God deemed it fit to call him into a specific assignment. He had
a visitation following the death of King Uzziah. This point has helped Bible historians and archeologists to note the
time when Isaiah lived and prophesied.

God appeared to Isaiah. He saw how sinful he was when he beheld the glory of the Creator of heaven and earth. But God said, “No worries, I am here to cleanse you and use you in a new way”. God did what He needed to do. Having been cleansed and called, Isaiah got a new assignment. His response is the reason we have some of these prophecies to read.

In our passage, we saw Isaiah’s honesty and openness before God. He acknowledged his sin; God cleansed him. When he responded to the call, he was not sure of what to say and for how long, he asked, and God answered him. I desire to have the same level of intimacy with God.

Friend, this passage reveals some of the ambiguities we have built around God and how they have hindered our
intimacy with Him. It is time to break down the walls and let God move into our lives and take our relationship with Him to the next level. Who is God calling today? Who will ask for a new visitation with an honest heart? Let us pray.
