The Lord’s Vineyard
Isaiah 5: 1-7
For the vineyard of the Lord of hosts is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah are His pleasant plant.
He looked for justice, but behold, oppression …
Isaiah 5:7
The allegory presented before us today is a simple one. The Lord shared the story and gave the interpretation so that the hearers could understand. The Scripture says, “For the vineyard of the Lord of hosts is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah are His pleasant plant. He looked for justice, but behold, oppression; for righteousness, but behold, a cry for help” (Isaiah 5:7).
Friend, we know how it feels to invest in something and gain nothing out of it. We know how it feels to train a relation or someone in your circle of influence and expected a better outcome, but they are still dependent on you. I can go on and on. But God says He has done enough for His people since they are unproductive, there is no need to care for it.
Hear Him:
“I will take away its hedge, and it shall be burned; and break down its wall, and it shall be trampled down.
I will lay it waste; it shall not be pruned or dug, but there shall come up briers and thorns. I will also command the clouds that they rain no rain on
it.” Isaiah 5:5-6.
Friend, if the Lord abandons us, we are finished. He is the One who grants us increase. Better to be in His good books than to fall short. Please, think about these things and repent. Shalom.
Your Turn
- Thank God for His word and His love for you.
- Pray that your life will be in order so that you can continue to enjoy God’s refreshing rain and increase.
