Prayer Still Works
Acts 12:1- 24
Peter was therefore kept in prison, but constant prayer was offered to God for him by the church (Acts 12:5).
Friend, God still answers prayers. And prayer works. When we pray to God with faith in our hearts, we will
experience God’s mercy and intervention.
When Herod took James and killed him, the people were happy. Then he tried to do the same thing to Peter but he met a road block. This road block was created by the prayer of the people. The Bible says, “But while Peter was in prison, the church prayed very earnestly for him” (Acts 12:5, NIV).
Friend, is there any situation in your life you know that the enemy wants to use to mock you? Do not resign yourself to fate. Take it to God in prayer. You can create a spiritual road block so that the enemy’s desire will be thwarted by the Lord and His angels.
In Daniel Chapter 6, God intervened by sending an angel to shut the mouth of the lion. Daniel was kept alive. In 2 Kings 19, God intervened on behalf of his children by sending an angel to destroy the enemy. He killed 185,000 in one night. God can do anything through the machinery of His presence and His angels. See Psalm 46:11.
Do not give up on prayer. If you need to engage others to pray along with you do so. But do not give up. Prayer still does wonders. It moves heaven and causes God to respond.
Shalom.
