Praise The Lord

Psalm 92:1-16
It is good to give thanks to the Lord, and to sing praises to Your name, O Most High (Psalm 92:1).

Greetings to you in the Name of the Lord and Happy New Year. It is a good thing to start the year with praises to the Lord, to thank Him for the blessings we received in the year 2016 as we anticipate more blessings this year. The Lord is faithful. He has preserved our lives to see a new year.

The psalmist says, “It is good to give thanks to the Lord, and to sing praises to Your name, O Most High” (Psalm 92:1). We praise Him because it good to do so. It does not matter what happened last year; I believe God did something for you that made you glad in the 365 days. Praise Him for it.

The writer of this psalm looked at what God has already done and with faith in his heart expected more triumph in the days to come. “For You, Lord, have made me glad through Your work; I will triumph in the works of Your hands” (Psalm 92:4).  That is the attitude we need to have as we start this year.

God’s thoughts towards us are very deep and good. Our God will do great wonders for us. We will be anointed with fresh oil and our horn will be exalted. We know that God is at work in our lives and He will continue to do so. Shalom.
