Pay Attention To The Lead
2 Kings 5:1-19
Then she said to her mistress, “If only my master were with the prophet who is in Samaria! For he would heal him of his leprosy” (2 Kings 5:3).
Continuing where we stopped yesterday, another lesson from our devotional passage is that Naaman paid attention to the information the girl gave him.
If it were some of us we would have told her, “What does a slave girl like you know about life, leprosy or a skin disease”? We give it to Naaman that he did not despise the young girl. He went to his boss to share what the girl told them.
If Naaman had failed to take the information to his boss, who helped him to get to Israel and eventually to the prophet’s door, who knows he might have remained a leper till the day he died.Reflecting on this, I thought to myself how many opportunities, leads and information we have wasted because we despised the person who told us. Sometimes we do this because we feel that the information they give us is not correct without even thinking through it or sharing it with someone who may take the information to the next level.
Friend, let us pay attention to our environment, the people around us and the wisdom that God may have for us through them. The information may be what you need to move to the next level. May the Lord breathe on you and bless you as you think on this word.
Shalom.
