Not The Same God
Matthew 14:22-33
Then those who were in the boat came and worshiped Him, saying, “Truly You are the Son of God” (Matthew 14:33).
Extending yesterday’s thought, I am reminded of an article I read recently which focused on today’s devotional topic.
Friend, the reason we need to reach out to more people so that they do not perish is because many have believed the lie that we are serving the same God with the people of other faiths- Christians, Muslims, Judaism etc. According to the Scriptures, that is not correct.
The Bible says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). John writes in another place, “These are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name” (John 20:31).
These passages show us the distinctive characteristic of those who serve God as prescribed. They must love God, accept Jesus Christ as God’s Son and serve Him. If they do not follow this truth, then we are not serving the same God.
When next you meet someone who says we are serving the same God ask what He thinks about Jesus Christ and whether He loves Him. Jesus is not one of the prophets. He is the Son of the living God the Saviour of the world. Shalom.
Your Turn
- Thank God for giving us His Son, Jesus Christ.
- Pray for those who do not know Him so that they can be saved.
