God Will Judge Them
2 Thessalonians 1:6- 10
And God will provide rest for you who are being persecuted and also for us when the Lord Jesus appears from heaven. He will come with his mighty angels” (2 Thessalonians 1:7, New Living Translation).
Our God will judge the world, the church and individuals who sinned against Him and refused to repent and forsake their evil deeds. God will also vindicate us and recompense evil to those who seek to harm us.
No wonder the Psalmist prayed, “Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered: let them also that hate him flee before him” (Psalm 68:1). He knew that when the Lord takes over the battle, His people would be delivered.
Someone may ask, “When?” Well, some judgment would be while we are still living and the rest He would judge on His appearance. The Bible says, “And God will provide rest for you who are being persecuted and also for us when the Lord Jesus appears from heaven. He will come with his mighty angels” (2 Thessalonians 1:7, New Living Translation).
This should bring us joy because we know God can be trusted. Evil will not thrive forever. In addition, there will be “judgment on those who don’t know God and on those who refuse to obey the Good News of our Lord Jesus” (2 Thessalonians 1:8, NIV). This should also compel us to share the gospel with more people.
Friend, we should be comforted with the fact that Christ would put an end to all false accusations and persecutions when He returns.
Shalom.
Your Turn
- Ask the Lord to help you deal with the pain you have as a result of false accusation and the like.
- Ask the Lord to help you not to be part of a gang up against another man.
- Pray that the Lord will continue to protect you from evil men.
