Not A Coincidence
Nehemiah 2: 1-20
Then the king said to me, “What do you want?” First, I prayed to the God of heaven. Then I answered the king… (Nehemiah 2:4-5, NCV).
When we pray, something happens. When we do not pray, things that should have happened may not happen. Life
is a series of activities. It is a life of cause and effect. Prayer causes reactions in heaven. These reactions cause actions to take place on earth. When we fail to pray, what we are saying is that we do not want a change to happen for someone, in a situation or in our lives.
However, when we pray, coincidences happen. But when we do not pray, they do not happen. That should tell us something. Yet, it is more than coincidence; it is God responding to our prayers and providence being activated on our behalf. The power of prayer should not be ignored by anyone. It is the key to accessing the supernatural for the believer.
When Nehemiah received the news about the wall of Jericho, he prayed, and God began to move things around. God created an opportunity for him. He caused the King to notice him and ask what the problem was that made him be unhappy. The rest became history as through divine intervention and providence, Nehemiah received the King’s permission to go to Jerusalem to rebuild the wall of Jerusalem.
Many years later, Nehemiah became the Governor of the city. It all started with a prayer. Who is the Lord speaking to today? Who will rise and pray? The Lord will hear you. Shalom.
Your Turn
- Pray about your situation.
- Ask God to intervene in every area of your concern.
Song: It’s me. It’s me, O Lord standing in the need of prayer.
