Multiple Prophecies

Isaiah 21:1-10
In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the temple.
Isaiah 6:1.

What Isaiah saw caused him to writhe in pain. He described his pain like that of a woman in labor. He said, “My stomach aches and burns with pain. Sharp pangs of anguish are upon me, like those of a woman in labor. I grow
faint when I hear what God is planning; I am too afraid to look” (Isaiah 21:3, NLT).

This description gives us insight into the revelation gifts that accompanied prophet Isaiah’s prophetic calling. Many times, Isaiah saw visions, heard sounds and felt God’s pain as He spoke to him. At other times, his messages read as if he was in a conversation with the Lord.

Today’s vision was horrific. It was a vision of betrayal and destruction of Babylon and other nations. Babylon’s allied
betrayed them because the time for their judgment had come. Isaiah felt bad about it. The people thought all was well. They prepared for a feast. Suddenly they were told to grab their weapons.

In the second part, the watchmen were sent to watch for enemy’s invasion. They have waited for so long then they saw a chariot and two horses. The time has come. The Lord has planted watchmen on our walls as the body of Christ. Let us heed their warning when they see evil coming our way. May we not sit in unbelief and say there is no evil coming. Better to pray than become a prey. Selah.

Your Turn

  • Pray for yourself and your church.
  • Pray that we will not live in complacency and fall victim of the enemies’ invasion and destruction.

Song: Christian seek not yet repose.
