Isaiah 16:1-14
“Within three years, as the years of a hired man, the glory of Moab will be despised with all that great multitude, and the remnant will be very small and feeble.”
Isaiah 16:14.

God sealed Moab’s destruction with a tone of finality that He will destroy the land. Nothing can change the verdict. Their offences and rebellion against the Lord have reached the peak.

From these messages and the judgments delivered by the Lord through His prophet, we understand that God sees and knows everything. We know that God watches the activities of every nation. There is no leader or cabinet whose actions, decisions and policies are hidden from God. God sees how they formulate policies and enact laws that oppress the poor or make life easy for them.

God sees how the innocent are punished. He sees how injustice has become rampant in our society. Yet, He calls, “let justice run down like water, and righteousness like a mighty stream” (Amos 5:24).

Who will rise and stand before the Lord to worship Him and acknowledge Him as Lord? Who will rise and acknowledge the Lord as Lord of all creation? We may think we made ourselves but when the show is over those who remain are the ones who will confess Him as Lord.

It is my prayer that we will be saved from the wrath of God and not witness it. The Scripture is replete with God’s act of judgment; no one should wait to witness it. Let us reflect on this word and make amends as individuals and as a nation. Shalom.
