Let Us Pray
Psalm 46:1-11
Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations. I will be exalted in the earth (Psalm 46:10).
The passage we read revealed God as our present help, the God who is available to us. As I reflect on this psalm, my attention was drawn to verse 10. It says, “Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations. I will be exalted in the earth”. It means we need to be still and not allow ourselves to be shaken when we face a situation that seeks to overwhelm us.
It may be that our children are not doing well or living right, or our businesses are not performing as we want them to be. God says, “Be still. I will be glorious in that situation if you will turn it over to me”. It may be that your friends have denied you and church members have disappointed you. Be still. Stay calm and look to God.
Friend, I do not know what you are going through, but I believe God wants us to trust Him and draw near to Him in our heart. He wants us to believe that He is able to save us and help us to overcome. Jesus said, “In me you may have peace. In the world you have oppression; but cheer up! I have overcome the world” (John 16:33, World English Bible).
This is the direction to pray today. May the Lord hear our cry.
Shalom.
