Intentional Study Of The Word
John 6:63; Acts 17:11
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. (2 Timothy 2:15, KJV).
The strength of a solid prayer life is the word of God. You can never have a good prayer life outside the word. It is the word that fuels prayer. It is the word of God that provides the knowledge you need for your prayer to be effective.
Also, the knowledge and understanding of the covenant rights that you have in God gives you the boldness to pray. The word of God in your heart gives you the authority to say bold prayers. We cannot do without the word of God. Therefore, if you are looking forward to a vibrant prayer life in 2018, you must also be deliberate about reading and studying the word of God.
Jesus says, “It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life” (John 6:63). Paul says, “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth”( 2 Timothy 2:15, KJV).
The word of God fills our heart with faith. The Berean Christians were of noble character because they searched the Scriptures daily to know if what Paul taught them were true. See Acts 17:11. We must do the same to develop noble character that would support a vibrant Christian life. Shalom.
