I Will Be Your God
Isaiah 46:1-13
I will be your God throughout your lifetime until your hair is white with age.I made you, and I will care for you. I will carry you along and save you.
Isaiah 46:4.
I love the way the New Living Bible translates verses 2-3. It renders the passage clearer. It reads thus: “Both the idols and their owners are bowed down. The gods cannot protect the people, and the people cannot protect the gods. They go off into captivity together” (Isaiah 46:2, NLT).
It is therefore comforting and assuring that we serve the Living God whom we do not need to carry but who can carry us. Hear Him: “I will be your God throughout your lifetime until your hair is white with age. I made you, and I will care for you. I will carry you along and save you” (Isaiah 46:4, NLT).
Friend, God has promised to carry us and be with us till the end of our life. The questions are: Are we ready to remain His children? Are we willing to be carried and helped by the Lord? Do we feel we can handle life ourselves? You see, the more we know and understand the depth of God’s love and care for us, the freer and bolder we will be in living life. It will also affect our carriage and courage as we face life challenges.
We are God’s special people. God wants to display His power through us. He wants to help us live well. Let us relax and rest in Him. He is a faithful God. Shalom.
