Destruction Of The Earth

Isaiah 24:1-23
The earth suffers for the sins of its people, for they have twisted God’s instructions, violated his laws, and broken his everlasting covenant.
Isaiah 24:4-5, NLT.

Today’s Bible passage reminds us of Revelation Chapters 19 and 20. The passages speak of the same thing. The earth
will be judged and the wicked powers behind the evil in our world will be judged as well. This is good news. Just imagine a,world without evil and wickedness.

As mentioned earlier, our actions and behaviors have impact on the well-being of the earth. The Bible says, “The earth mourns and dries up, and the crops waste away and wither. Even the greatest people on earth waste away. The earth suffers for the sins of its people, for they have twisted God’s instructions, violated his laws, and broken his everlasting covenant “(Isa 24:4-5, NLT).

Therefore, we should be concerned about crime rates, drug abuse, wars that are raging in our land. It means climate change and pollution is no longer a rhetoric. We should support those who seek the protection of the earth. We have been mandated to care for this world. Our sins and evil will affect the earth’s productivity and eventually affect our well-being too. This is already happening.

After the judgment, the remnants will worship the Lord. Isaiah 24:14, 16 says, “But all who are left shout and sing for joy. Those in the west praise the Lord’s majesty … We hear songs of praise from the ends of the earth, songs that give glory to the Righteous One!” (NLT). Praise the Lord.

Your Turn

  • Pray for the earth. Ask the Lord to show us mercy.
  • Pray that God will raise men and women who will stand as advocates for the earth’s well being.

Song: Worthy is the Lamb.
