Benefits Of Our Salvation
Luke 18: 18-30
… there is no one who has left house orparents or brothers … for the sake of the kingdom of God, who shall not receive many times more … and in the age to come eternal life (Luke 18:29-30).
Friend, the benefits of our salvation in Jesus far outweighs any benefits that we may derive from other knowledge we may acquire. The knowledge of assurance of salvation and its benefits has to do with our lives now and in the future.
Following Jesus’ discussion with the rich young ruler who walked away disappointed because of his wealth and His statement about the difficulty of making heaven, His hearers and Peter asked questions: “Who then can be saved” and “See, we have left all and followed You” (vs.26; 28).
Jesus responded: “Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or parents or brothers or wife or children, for the sake of the kingdom of God, who shall not receive many times more in this present time, and in the age to come eternal life” (vs. 29-30). This reward is better than any earthly investment. It goes beyond the present into the future.
Our part is to receive His word, believe it and claim the blessings. His part is to fulfill it. No greater assurance than this. I feel great joy in my heart having studied and written this edition. My faith has been strengthened and I am enthused about the way of the Master. It is my prayer that this would be your experience too. Shalom.
