Abide In Him
John 15:1-7
Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me (John 15:4).
Continuing from where we stopped last month, we will look at more ways we can experience assurance of salvation. Friend, a fruitless believer can never be a joyful one in the real sense of it. What brings us real joy is when we are at our duty post serving the Lord in the capacity He has placed us.
In order to continue to enjoy the good feeling that comes from our salvation, we must remain in Him and bear fruit that will bring glory to God and everlasting reward to us. To achieve this, Jesus admonished us saying, “Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me” (John 15:4).
Many times we lose our joy and the assurance we experienced when we first gave our life to Jesus because we no longer do the things we did at first. If we want to know the joy of salvation again, it is time to return to Him, fellowship with Him and receive from Him so that we can share His love and goodness with others.
May you find joy and gladness in abiding in the Vine in Jesus’ Name. Shalom.
