A Consistent Prayer Life
Jude 20
But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit.
Jesus modeled the life of prayer for us. He won his life battles through prayer. See Luke 11:1-13. Apostle Paul did the same thing. He and his friend, Silas, prayed and God came into the prison room with an earthquake that finally led to the salvation of many in one night.
When the church prayed, God responded in Acts Chapter 4. When they prayed God heard and Peter was freed from the hand of King Herod in Acts Chapter 12. Prayer is the life wire of every believer. We cannot win the battle against error without it.
It takes prayer to know the mind of God and discern how to answer the enemy when they come with their wrong doctrine. It takes praying in the Spirit to be led and grow our faith. Therefore, prayer is an important part of our preparation for contending for truth. Let us make it a duty to continue to pray.
When the disciples asked Jesus to teach them how to pray, He responded and gave them an important prayer point: “Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from all evil”. See Matthew 6:9-13. We need to say this prayer too.
May your heart be strengthened and encouraged to pray more, seek the mind of God for direction and know His will.
Shalom.
