The Power Of God’s Love

Jude 21
Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

When Paul wrote to the Galatians to condemn how quick they were to fall into error, he told them that all they needed was faith that works by love not keeping rules and regulations. “For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but faith working through love” (Galatians 5:6).  This is an important truth that we need to know.

In as much as we want to contend and defend the truth that we know and have, we must be careful that we do so without anger or bitterness. Therefore, keep the following points in mind as you prepare to contend:

  1. We must keep ourselves in the love of God loving H i m and loving others. Jesus told His disciples, “As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My  love” (John 15:9).
  2. We show love to others. This includes the false teachers and apostates. In our contending, we must  recognize that God loves everyone and wants them to  be saved. “For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth” (1Timothy 2:4).

When we do this, we will be able to keep ourselves in the love of God and not allow satan, the accuser of the brethren, to harass or intimidate us. Shalom.

Your Turn

  • Pray and ask the Lord to keep you in His love.
