Fight The Vultures
Genesis 15: 1-21
And when the vultures came down on the carcasses, Abram drove them away (Genesis 15:11)
Just like Abraham, God gives us promises and it seems they will never come to pass. Yet, God wants us to trust Him. When Abraham told God, “I don’t see a way out of this childlessness”. God said, “No, you will have a son”. Thank God we know the end of the story. God proved that He was not a man that should lie (Numbers 23:19).
While Abraham offered his sacrifice to the Lord, the vultures came. Vultures are bird of prey. They have only one mission – to kill, steal and destroy. They always gather where the carcasses are. But we must not let them into our lives. Vultures are doubts, fear and unbelief. They come to steal our faith in God’s word and His promises.
The Bible says, “Some vultures swooped down to eat the carcasses, but Abram chased them away” (Genesis 15:11, NLT) because he could not afford the evil forces to contaminate his sacrifice. Abraham fought the vultures and God’s fire came on his sacrifice to seal the covenant.
Friend, go back to the word that God gave you and meditate on it again. Drive doubts away because God is faithful. Kill any root of unbelief because God is reliable. Deal with any fear because God has told you not to fear. He loves you and He is working on your case. May the Lord answer you on time. May He grant you the faith and strength to fight the vultures in Jesus’ Name. Shalom.
Your Turn
- Thank God for what He is doing in your life right now.
- Praise Him and renew your love and faith in Him.
- Pray for me that I will continue to stand firm in faith too.
Thank you.
