A Word For Now

Psalm 72:1-20
In His days the righteous shall flourish, and abundance of peace, until the moon is no more (Psalm 72:7).

Today’s psalm is a prophecy for the future, but it finds relevant application in the present. The future spoken about is our now. King Solomon declares, “In His days the righteous shall flourish, and abundance of peace, until the moon is no more” (Psalm 72:7). This is the day of Christ. We are expected to flourish and live in abundance of peace of mind.

The question to ask then is, “Are the righteous flourishing? Are we living in the abundance of peace? Or is something
wrong? Are we prospering as described in this psalm?” I don’t think so. That is why we are to read this psalm and pray that God would step into our time and fight for us so that we can benefit from all that is meant for us. Let us pray.

1. Thank God for the privilege to pray to Him today.
2. Confess your sins and ask for forgiveness.
3. Petition the Most High to step into your case because He is all you need and have.
4. Present your challenging cases before Him.
5. Pray that God will fulfill His word to you. This is the day of Elijah, the righteous must flourish in the land and have abundance of peace as they desire.

The moon is still on in the sky at night. It is time for God to help us flourish. Hallelujah! Shalom.

Your Turn

  • Pray the above prayers and add to it as you are led.
