Joel 2:15-28
Do not be afraid, you beasts of the field; For the open pastures are springing up, And the tree bears its fruit; The fig tree and the vine yield their strength. (Joel 2:22).

Prophet Joel’s prophecies reflect on repentance, restoration and breakthrough. However, a closer look at today’s passage reveals that these prophecies are a prototype of what happens when the heaven opens to a man or a people. You will be blessed when God forgives and restores you. The blessing mentioned include:

1. This symbolizes the anointing of God and increase. (vs. 23).
2. This abundance could be physical, spiritual and material. When God opens your heaven and gives you one idea to work with, the blessing that will come to you will surprise you. God gave Jacob an idea; he worked with it and became wealthy in the process. See Genesis 30:25-43.
3. Restoration of all that was lost. When God visits you and opens the heaven over your life, you will                 experience fruitfulness. Everything about you becomes new, fresh and green. Sometimes, persons living under open heaven may look younger and fresher than their age. (Vs.25).
4. Open heaven wipes away shame. It removes the reproach of closed heaven. (vs.26-7).
5. Outpouring of the spirit and fresh anointing is (Vs.28).

Friend, my heart longs for these benefits. O! that we would seek the Lord and ask Him to open the heavens and send us abundant rain and blessing. Shalom.
