The Attributes Of A Pilgrim

Psalm 84:5 -8
As they pass through the Valley of Baca, they make it a spring; the rain also covers it with pools. (Psalm 84:6).

Continuing from where we stopped yesterday, let us look at more truths from our passage.

An on-purpose pilgrim must possess certain attributes. An “attribute” as a noun is a good quality or feature that someone or something has. It could also be an inherent characteristic in someone or something. The following are some of the attributes that will make life easy for us:

  1. Positive attitude towards life challenges. One of the things we have observed is that many believers veer off the   pilgrimage journey because of their perception about life  and suffering. Yet, Jesus warned that we would have   trouble. See John16:33 and Luke 18:29-30. The man in our  devotion passage through positive attribute turned his valley of weeping into a spring,  a place of goodness.
  2. Rely on God’s strength and His anointing. We do this through daily consecration and fellowship with God in prayer and the word. His word will reveal to us how to respond to our challenges. Prayer will empower us and grant us victory.
  1. Continuous prayer and focus on the end result. Remember, the odds are not against you because in the end you will have  a place in heaven with God and reign with Him at the end of  the age.

May the Lord help us to fan into flame the passion to stand firm in Jesus’ Name. Shalom.

Your Turn

  • Give thanks to the Lord for His love for us.
  • Praise Him for how He has been teaching us truths from His word.
