There Is A Reward

Isaiah 56:1- 8
Even to them I will give in My house And within My walls a place and a name better than that of sons and daughters; I will give them an everlasting name
that shall not be cut off. (Isaiah 56:5).

Friend, I am a woman of unclean lips and I live amongst unclean people. Consequently, one of my goals this year is to be intentional in living for the Lord. Let us do this together. If the Bible says sin shall not have dominion over us, it means it is possible. If the Lord says we must be perfect and holy as He is, then it is possible. See Romans 6:14; 1 Peter 1:16.

What are we to do? The answer is in today’s Bible reading.  It reveals that God has a reward system in place for those who “keep justice and do righteousness” (Isaiah 56:1). Realizing that we have something to gain would keep us motivated to seek the Lord. God spoke to the people not to be discouraged in living right because there is a reward for them.

He told those who are in covenant with Him that He would reward them. “Even to them I will give in My house and within My walls a place … I will give them an everlasting name that shall not be cut off” (Isaiah 56:5). This promise is for us too.

We may experience persecution or be alienated by our peers because we are believing Christians. God will stand by us. If we live right, we will be blessed. The choice is yours. Let us pray.

Your Turn

  • Pray for the grace to live well so that you can be a partaker of the reward.
