We Will Sing Again
Jeremiah 31:12-14
They will come home and sing songs of joy on the heights of Jerusalem. They will be radiant because of the Lord’s good gifts (Jeremiah 31:12a, NLT).
Whenever I read the Bible, I always look into it for words of hope and promises I can believe and ask the Lord to perform in my life. I also look for words of encouragement I could share with others. That is my calling.
At other times, I look into it for instructions that are meant to shape my life into the image of Christ in order to live a life that would please the Lord. So, when I stumbled on this passage, I knew it was the word for us in their season. It is a season that the hearts of men are failing them and many people are losing hope in what the future holds for them.
But God promised us hope and restoration. We will sing again. “They will come home and sing songs of joy on the heights of Jerusalem. They will be radiant because of the Lord’s good gifts” (vs.12a, NLT). We will come back to our churches and fellowships to testify to the abundant blessings of the Lord. That is a word to hold on to.
Friend, do not look to your situation. Look to your God. Look to His faithfulness. Look to the One whose mercy endures forever, who does great wonders and miracles that could turn your life around. Look to Him. He will help you and you will sing again. Shalom.
