Wisdom From The Lord
Isaiah 28:25-29
The farmer knows just what to do, for God has given him understanding.
Isaiah 28:26, NLT.
When I read today’s passage, I was surprised that such powerful truths could be hidden in the prophecy of doom for the Samarian. I rejoiced and prayed the prayer for myself. You can pray it too.
The truth is God gives everyone wisdom to do their jobs well. The farmer does not decide what to do if God has not given them understanding and wisdom. The Bible says, “Does a farmer always plow and never sow? Is he forever cultivating the soil and never planting? Does he not finally plant his seeds…” The farmer knows just what to do for God has given him understanding (Isaiah 28:24-26, NLT).
Since this is true, then we should be wise and smart to go to God and ask Him to teach us and show us what to do. We should humble ourselves and learn from God so we can excel in our work. Are we all farmers? No! But if God gave them understanding, He will give us too.
It is our turn to ask God so that we can begin to live a smarter life and be more strategic in our endeavors. Understanding and wisdom, “comes from the Lord of hosts, who is wonderful in counsel and excellent in guidance” Isaiah 28:29. Shalom.
