Winning The Tests

Psalm 32:1-11
You are my hiding place; You shall preserve me from trouble; You shall surround me with songs of deliverance (Psalm 32:7).

As I meditated on yesterday’s Bible passage on how we can win and pass the training of test the Lord would take us through without losing faith, today’s Bible passage came to mind. From it I gleaned some truths that could be useful for us.

1. Acknowledge your lack of understanding of what is going on. Rather than being quick to bind and loose, we need to pause and think- what is going on here?
2. Run to your stronghold. Ask the Lord for protection and safety. Ask Him to plead your cause. See Psalm 16:1; Jeremiah 50:34; Proverbs 18:10.
3. Spend time with God and listen for instruction on how to manage or respond in the situation. See Psalm 32:8
4. Sustain your trust in God and remain loyal to the truth you know about God. Job declares, “Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him” (Job 13:15). In another place he says, “For I know that my redeemer lives” (Job 19:25).
5. Keep the praise of God on your mouth. No matter the situation either a test or training – you can never go wrong with praising God and rejoicing in His presence.

I believe you will find more ways. Let us stay in His presence and we will overcome. Remember, no matter how tough the training or test may be, you are already more than a conqueror. Shalom.

Your Turn

  • How do you feel when you do not know what you are going through?
  • Do you turn to God, your friends or you keep it to yourself?
  • How good might it be if you have Christian friends who could pray with you and encourage you?
