Who Will You Magnify?
Psalm 34:1-22
Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together (Psalm 34:3).
Friend, who will you magnify? Your problem? Or the Lord?
Why do we need to answer this question? Well, what you magnify becomes bigger and what you do not magnify becomes smaller.
Every time you concentrate on your problems, it gets bigger. And every time you concentrate on God’s goodness, His love and power to you, He gets bigger too. The choice is yours. In life we will face challenges but we have to decide what we would like to magnify.
Knowing my tendency to worry and become psychologically stressed, I continue to learn this lesson. If I choose to cast my care on God, I will have peace. I will also experience what the Scripture says in Isaiah 26:3: “You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you” (NIV).
In I Samuel 17, David looked at the size of his God and not the size of Goliath. If he had done otherwise, I am sure Goliath’s desire to feed his flesh to the birds of the air would have come to pass.
Please know this: The more we magnify the Lord, the more room we will make for Him to intervene in our situations. May the Lord reveal Himself to you as you think on these things and apply its truth to your life. Shalom.
