Which Side Are You?
Mark 14:10-21
Now on the first day of Unleavened Bread, when they killedthe Passover lamb, His disciples said to Him, “Where do You want us to go and prepare, that You may eat the Passover?” (Mark 14:12).
Today’s passage presents a tale of two motives. While Satan visited Judas and found him a willing vessel to be used to arrest Jesus (See Luke 22:3-6), other disciples were motivated to serve their Master by asking where He would want them to prepare the Passover for Him.
Unknown to both parties, these movements on their minds would contribute to the Lord’s purpose. One would contribute to His death, while the other would contribute to His preparation for the final phase of His assignment here on earth.
As we meditate on this passage, let us ask ourselves: Am I contributing to the cause of Christ or against it? Am I allowing myself to be used by satan to live and act in ways that are contrary to the Christ whom I confessed? Judas cooperated with satan and Jesus’ words in verse 21 could not discourage him.
On a positive note, we can emulate the disciples and ask the Lord, “What would you have me do for you this Easter season?
Which area would you like me to serve you in my local church and with my life?” I believe He will speak to you and you will be successful just as the disciples were successful in their preparation of the Passover and it went well.
May the Lord expand these truths in our hearts. Shalom.
