We Will Be Rewarded

Matthew 20:1-16
So when evening had come, the owner of the vineyard said to his steward, ‘Call the laborers and give them their wages, beginning with the last to the first’ (Matthew 20:8).

As workers in His vineyard, we must be rest assured that God will reward us. He has promised to do so and His word is sure.

From today’s Bible reading, we could see that everyone was rewarded according to how the Lord determined it. The lesson for us is that whichever time that we join the Lord’s workforce, let us do our part well. The Bible says, “So when evening had come, the owner of the vineyard said to his steward, ‘Call the laborers and give them their wages, beginning with the last to the first’” (Matthew 20:8).

Some of us may think, why join the workforce early when we will be paid the same thing? The issue is you do not know what time it is in God’s calendar and timetable. If you have been serving, keep serving so that you do not lose your reward.

Instead of arguing about the “injustice” of the landowner, it is better for us to focus on doing our part so that we can receive His well-done and be paid the right dues. Remember, “Be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord”(1 Corinthians 15:58). Shalom.
