We Pray For Results

1 Thessalonians 2:1-12; Acts 17:1-4
You know, brothers and sisters, that our visit to you was not without results (1 Thessalonians 2:1, NIV ).

If I were Paul and his friends, I would be bold and proud to say “brothers and sisters, our visit to you was not without results” (1 Thessalonians 2:1, NIV), because that was the truth. They had good results and their work in that city endured long after Paul and his friends departed.

In the light of this word, let us pray and ask the Lord to lead us and help us to do more than we are doing right now. This would cut across our career, school, work and ministry. We want our work to yield good and durable results.

We need to note that first, Paul’s missionary work in the city of Thessalonica was guided by the Lord. See Acts 16:6-10. Paul heard a vision and he responded to it.  Second, Paul and his friends persevered in the face of severe persecution and opposition from the Jews and unbelieving Gentiles.  Recognizing these factors would help us to succeed.

Therefore, we will pray and ask the Lord to lead us to where He has prepared for us to work and serve Him. We will pray and ask the Lord to guide us to the right business contacts and career paths. We will pray for the grace to endure so that we can see results from our labor.

Finally, we will pray that our work and life will produce results.
