Unshaken Hope
Hebrews 6:13-20
This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil (Hebrews 6:19).
Continuing from where we stopped yesterday we will look at more mnemonics.
“U” stands for “Unshaken” hope: The hope of eternal life in the future and eternity with God remains unshaken because this hope is not placed in any man. Our hope is in God who is the anchor for our soul. In Him there is no variableness or shadow of turning. See James 1:17.
“R” stands for “Redemption”. By the resurrection of Jesus Christ, we have been redeemed from the curse and the law of sin and death. In this we rejoice and continually give thanks to God for redeeming us. Christ “has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins” (Colossians 1:13-14).
“A” is for “Anticipation”. With our salvation and its assurance comes the anticipation for the full manifestation of the life we have received which would come after we have been glorified at the second coming of the Lord. “We also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body” (Romans 8:23).
Friend, meditate on the truth each word presents until you are full of assurance from God, our eternal Father. Shalom.
