The Three Fulcrum Of Faith
Thessalonians 1:2-3
We remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ (1 Thessalonians 1:3, NIV).
Continuing from yesterday’s devotional message, we will look at the next thing that Paul and his friends remembered about the church at Thessalonica. The Bible says, “We remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ” (1 Thessalonians 1:3, NIV).
Reading through this verse, the Holy Spirit impressed on my heart that these are the three fulcrum of faith. A fulcrum is a support or hinge. In essence, it is our walk of faith resting on the force of faith, love and hope. Whatever we do we must remain in the pursuit of these three characteristics. No wonder the Bible says in 1 Corinthians 13: 13 that, “Now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love” (NIV).
Friend, is our work and the way we live a product of faith? Are we serving in the church because we have faith that God would reward us? Is our work (irrespective of our vocation) done with faith that we are contributing to the overall wellbeing of the human race?
You see, all our work can be done to reflect our faith in God and show that we are a people of faith. It is all a matter of knowledge and attitude. Think on these things. Shalom.
