The Lord Is Good
Psalm 106:1
Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.
Today, we sing praises to the One who is good. We worship the Beautiful One whose mercies we have enjoyed since the beginning of the year. Many of us have faced challenges that could have put us to shame but the Lord stepped in and helped us.
Many nations around the world have struggled with their economy, but we are still here and the Lord has been our help. Let us give thanks to the Lord. We give thanks also for journey mercies we have received. It is part of the Lord’s goodness.
Many times we travel by air, road, rail or the sea, God has been there with us. Not everyone who left their home returned safely. Those on board the Egypt Air which crashed in May never thought they would not make it to their destination.
When you look around, you will see many more reasons to thank God. May be all your hopes and ambitions have not happened but you are alive. You can still praise God because you know it is not over until it is over. The change you want could still happen.
I conclude with the words of the prophet: “Though the fig tree may not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines; yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation” (Habakkuk 3:17-18). Shalom.
