The Fall Of Lucifer

Isaiah 14:12-21
Who made the world as a wilderness and destroyed its cities, who did not open the house of his prisoners?’
Isaiah 14:17.

Today’s Bible reading reveals the fall of Babylon and Lucifer. In it we read about how Lucifer was uniquely
created for God’s purpose in heaven until sin was found in him.

His offences are highlighted in verses 14-15. The thought of his heart was also revealed. He said, “I will climb to the
highest heavens and be like the Most High” (Isaiah 14:14, NLT). As a result, God gave the verdict: “Yet you shall be
brought down to Sheol, to the lowest depths of the Pit” (Isaiah 14:15).

Friend, pride does not look good on anyone. In its full maturity, pride destroys us, ruins what we have and can
make a mess of our lives if care is not taken. That is why we need to learn from the word of God and apply its truths to our lives. We must run from pride and be contented with what God has given us and called us to do.

Pride is among the seven things God hates. “These six things the Lord hates, yes, seven are an abomination to
Him: A proud look, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans…” (Proverbs 6:16- 19). Also, “God resists the proud” (James 4:6). Let us run from it. Then we will not partake in the punishment of Lucifer. Shalom.
