The Effect Of Positive Change

2 Thessalonians 1:4
Therefore, among God’s churches we boast about your perseverance and faith in all the persecutions and trials you are enduring.

Continuing from where we stopped yesterday, Paul went further to state the effect of the positive change that took place in the church at Thessalonica.

Their sacrificial giving, faith in God and love had served as a testimony for others. They boasted about them because their lives showed what it means to persevere and hold on to faith in the time of trials and persecutions. He said, “Among God’s churches we boast about your perseverance and faith in all the persecutions and trials you are enduring” (2 Thessalonians 1:4).

I am challenged as I meditate on this verse. I wondered if my life was making any positive effect among believers and unbelievers alike.  It also dawned on me that we needed to make a change and be conscious of how we live as Christians.

The Bible makes us to understand that we do not live for ourselves. “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me” (Galatians 2:20).

Let us live like this so that Christ can be glorified and others edified. In return, we will be blessed because we are pleasing the Lord. Shalom.

Your Turn

  • Is your life and the change that you have experienced a testimony for others?
  • Do you have areas that you need to work on so that you can be a good witness for Christ. Pray for yourself.

Song: Jesus we love You, we worship and adore You.
