That We Might Be Saved
Matthew 1:18-25
For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost (Luke 19:10).
It is another Christmas and we are celebrating the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ. His birth signifies the beginning of the fulfillment of God’s word to restore mankind. Jesus Christ did not come just to change the history of mankind or to affect the Gregorian calendar. Rather, He came so that we might be saved.
He came to bring to us the salvation that God has planned for us before the foundation of the world. If you are alive and you have not received His love and salvation, your celebration is not complete. You should celebrate when you know you have been freed from sin and have the hope of eternal life in God.
When Jesus went to Zacchaeus’ house, He did not go just because He was looking for a place to refresh Himself, or a place to eat. No! He went because Zacchaeus needed to be saved. He said, “Today, salvation has come to this house” (Luke 19:9).
Today is the day of salvation. If you know Him, thank Him for coming to save you and for clothing you with the robe of righteousness so that you can seat in the heavenly places with Him (Ephesians 2:6). If you do not know, ask Him to come into your life and give you a new life.
Do have yourself a wonderful and glorious Christmas! Shalom.
