Stay On The High Road

Isaiah 35:8-10
And a highway will be there; it will be called the Way of Holiness; it will be for those who walk on that Way. The unclean will not journey on it; wicked fools will not go about on it (Isaiah 35:8, New International Version).

Friend, no matter what the world throws at us we must decide and choose to remain on the highway. No matter the rate of sin and the increase in injustice around us, we must remain steadfast in our walk with the Lord because we know that our reward awaits us.

The prophet shares the vision he had with the people. He told them how they needed to keep hope alive because of what God planned to do for them in the near future. God would restore their life and the desert would blossom again. He told them to remain holy and to serve the Lord with fear because the coming kingdom would require that they walked in the high way of holiness.

For us, it will require that we keep our garments white so that we are not asked to depart from the Lord’s presence. The prophet says, “And a highway will be there; it will be called the Way of Holiness; it will be for those who walk on that Way”

(vs.8, New International Version). Friend, let us choose to remain on the highway.

Let us shun sin and serve the Lord with all our soul, heart and mind and strength so that we can be restored. I believe we can do this as we rely on the Holy Spirit to help us. May the Lord keep us safe in the hollow of His hands. Shalom.
