Sound The Alarm
2 Chronicles 13:1-20
Now look, God Himself is with us as our head, and His priests with sounding trumpets to sound the alarm against you. O children of Israel, do not fight against the Lord God of your fathers, for you shall not prosper! (2 Chronicles 13:12).
Friend, this year is the year to sound the alarm and declare the decree of the King of kings, Jesus Christ, over our
lives and situation. This is the year the priest of the Lord must sound the alarm, declare the covenant and the counsel
of God in any situation we face.
It is time to sound the alarm and warn nations, people around us about the second coming of the Lord. It is time to warn, not the time to be quiet. If king Abijah and His people had been silent, Jeroboam would have had a field day but when he spoke God acted. They won.
The Bible says, “And when Judah looked around, to their surprise the battle line was at both front and rear; and they
cried out to the Lord, and the priests sounded the trumpets. Then the men of Judah gave a shout; and as the men of Judah shouted, it happened that God struck Jeroboam and all Israel before Abijah and Judah” (2 Chronicles 13:14-16).
In the Old Testament, trumpets are sounded as a testimony and warning against the enemy. It is also a sign that we will be remembered by the Lord. When life seeks to overwhelm us, we must sound the alarm and call on God. He will answer us. Blow the trumpet and God will respond to us as He did on that day. Shalom.
