Salvation Is God’s Business
Luke 18:18-30
The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.
Luke 18:27
Susan had been concerned about the eternal destiny of her friend, Karina. She continued to pray and preach to her.
One day it dawned on her that only the Lord could touch and save Karina by His Spirit. She could only preach and ask the Holy Spirit to do the rest. She did. Within a year, Karina turned to the Lord and she is a committed follower of Christ till date.
God is the One who makes the impossible possible. He can do all things including saving our unbelieving family members. The rich young ruler’s desire to enter the kingdom of God became an impossible task because he could not comprehend living without his goods.
He missed the point. Jesus did not say don’t have wealth. What He needed was a change of perspective – to focus on having treasures in heaven. The rich young ruler went home sorrowful, but the disciples were concerned. They asked,
“Who then can be saved?” Jesus answered, “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God” (Luke 18:27). Salvation is God’s business and He can make it happen.
Let us appreciate God for choosing us. It is a privilege. Let us believe Him to save those we are praying for. He can save them. Remember, “So then it is not of him who wills, nor of him who runs, but of God who shows mercy” (Romans 9:16). Shalom.
