and the nation. It is never too late to ask God to show us mercy and deliver us from any impending danger and shame.
Ezra understood that he served a God who hears and answers prayers. So, he encouraged his people to pray than wait to be a prey in the hand of the enemy on the way. Ezra testified saying, “Then I proclaimed a fast there at the river of Ahava, that we might humble ourselves before our God, to seek from Him the right way for us … So we fasted and entreated our God for this, and He answered our prayer” (Ezra 8:21, 23).
If you are ashamed to request help from the heathen, then it is time to pray. If you need direction for the rest of the year, then you must pray. If you need God to place His hand on you, protect you and show you His power then it is time to pray.
Believers in Nigeria have been quiet for too long. We can emulate Ezra and call on the Lord to have mercy on us and deliver us from the shame and bondage that satan wants to bring upon the nation. God will answer our prayers when we pray (See 2 Chronicles 7:14). Shalom.
Your Turn
